How to prepare homemade spice powder
Packaged spice powders are full of additives and preservatives. So, it is better to prepare spice powder at home without any chemicals. This spice powder is a healthier option rather than using a packaged spice powder.
Ingredients:
1. Onion - 10
2. Garlic - 10 pods
3. Ginger - 4
4. Coriander seeds - 1 cup
5. Cumin seeds - 1/4 cup
6. Bay leaves - 4
7. Star anise - 1
8. Mustard seeds - 2 tbsp
9. Fenugreek seeds - 1 tbsp
10. Sesame seeds - 1tbsp
11. Curry leaves
12. Dry coconut grated - 2 cups
13. Chilli powder - 2 kg
14. Pepper - 4
Method of preparation:
1. First you need to chop onion, ginger into small cubes.
2. Next you need to stir fry onion till it becomes translucent.
3. Then stir fry ginger, garlic pods, curry leaves till it becomes aromatic.
4. Next method is to roast coriander seeds, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, bay leaves, sesame, cumin seeds, pepper, and star anise.
5. Then roast grated dry coconut and grind it finely.
6. Then grind coriander seeds and other spices into fine texture.
7. Next grind fried onion, ginger, garlic and curry leaves into fine paste.
8. Take chilli powder and mix ground spices gradually, and also mix ground onion and ginger, garlic paste.
9. Finally incorporate all the ingredients and grind it again to make a homemade spice powder.
